Job description

NuGen Automation is currently looking for Software Developers and Consultants to work within our Wonderware Development and Support Group. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Wonderware SCADA and HMI systems primarily in the Oil & Gas Industry. The successful candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in SCADA Automation, field /project experience and at least 1+ year specializing in Wonderware ArchestrA and System Platform.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work within the Wonderware Team to develop, test, deliver, commission, and support SCADA and supporting applications
  • Provide consulting services remotely and at our customer locations
  • Perform system maintenance and operational changes/improvements under an established Management of Change (MOC) process
  • Proactive system support, working closely with our customers SCADA and/or Control room managers
  • Troubleshoot software and system components, from field device communication to the data historian, using available in-house and online support resources.

Required Skills: Candidates must possess the following essential skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with the following Wonderware products:
    • InTouch
    • System Platform
    • Wonderware Historian (IndustrialSQL)
    • Wonderware Historian Client
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Experience with C# and/or the .NET development environment
  • Knowledge of best-practice Automation strategies, implementations, and designs
  • General understanding of pipeline control systems as applied to real-time data acquisition, display, and integration into data historians
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment
  • Willing to travel up to 30% as required and has an excellent driving record

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with all or some of the following software and hardware:  PLCs, Flow Computers, Auto-Sol AES OPC Server, Wonderware West Universal Server (USS), Kepware, Win911, Top-Server, Flo-Cal Measurement System is a plus
  • Basic understanding of networks and ability to troubleshoot common outages
